My Golden Natives Series

These pieces are a celebration of native plants, birds and keystone species painted in watercolor on gold panel.  

 

Whether attracting pollinators, holding soil in place, or filtering out groundwater toxins, indigenous plants also represent Wharton Esherick's idea that, "Nature is always the best artist." Birds, such as the kingfisher and other keystone species are industrious workers that also can be inspiring as they artfully carrying out their simple roles in our complex ecosystem.
