Of Fractals and Kingfishers: A Thin Space
In Celtic spirituality, a thin space is said to be a place where the veil between heaven and earth is lifted. Often people have experienced this in holy places. Like poet Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844-1889),
I find it in nature.
Sometimes it is the science in nature that reveals heaven to me. In this collection of earthenware ceramics, I recreate a recent thin space encounter of mine - a blessing that continued to unfold throughout this past Christmas season.
