This workshop gives students the chance to explore the incredible art and science of our local Schuylkill watershed. While hiking to the pond, streambed and banks of the Schuylkill River, we’ll learn to identify aquatic organisms, test the water chemistry and even search for clay deposits. Through exciting games, activities, science and a special clay art project inspired by the adventure, this one-of-a-kind experience teaches the art and science of protecting a watershed.
Watershed Splash! Art and Science Workshop
Location: 20 East Bridge Street, Spring City, PA 19475 (right next to theTurkey Hill gas station).
Parents may park in the lot between the Spring City Mill Studio and the Turkey Hill. Jolie will meet class participants at the studio 100 front door located directly on Bridge Street at Spring City Mill Studios.
What to Bring: A short portion of each day may be spent making discoveries outdoors on the Schuylkill River Trail and/or nearby Riverfront Park in Royersford – even if it’s drizzling. Participants should come ready for adventure and art with outdoor clothes and close-toed shoes.
